In a world of abundant wealth and resources, where enough food is produced to feed everyone on the planet. It is unacceptable that hundreds of millions of people suffer from hunger.
Right now, poverty, conflict, and climate change are contributing to hunger and suffering around the world. This makes feeding the homeless the last concern. For that reason, the ‘’Zero Hunger ‘’association – pledges to end hunger, achieve food security and improve nutrition.
Feeding the homeless as a first step
Zero Hunger’s volunteers believe that Food is central to human well-being; it provides the body with nourishment, offers livelihoods that lift people out of poverty, and brings communities together. Although food is a basic human need. Many people are trapped in a cycle of hunger by forces beyond their immediate control. Poverty disaster, conflict, and inequality are the best examples, and here comes our mission to defeat hunger.
Zero Hunger volunteers
As young Moroccan citizens, and members of the ‘’Zero Hunger’’ association, we consider the SDG’s as our seventeen must achieve ambitions, to create a better society where everyone is helping everyone else, where all the humans act as one body and where problems like Hunger …is only a story from the past, that no one should worry about anymore.
We provide meals to hundreds feeding the homeless people all over Morocco each week and so we receive hundreds of smiles and love in exchange.
Still we have a lot of work to do on our journey to create a world with zero hunger and zero waste.
We are working together with national partners to feed our country, Morocco. Thanks to our motivated and passionate members we are making progress in achieving our goals. Zero Hunger also supports programs that prevent food waste and improve food security among the people we serve; educates the public about the problem of hunger; and advocates for legislation that protects people from going hungry.
Individuals, charities, businesses, and government all have a role in ending hunger. So it is time to rethink how we grow, share, and consume our food. If done right, agriculture, forestry, and fisheries can provide nutritious food for all and generate decent incomes while supporting people-centered rural development and protecting the environment.
We are aiming to make our leaders, friends, families, and social networks know that we care about ending hunger. We also support the UN’s work and believe that we need to provide funding and other resources to reach the goal of zero hunger.
A vision for a better world
Our planet has provided us with tremendous resources, but unequal access and inefficient handling leave millions of people malnourished. We are ZERO Hunger heroes and that was our vision for a better world.
A vision of taking actions, as ‘’ Rachid BEGGAR’’, the organization’s founder said:
‘’let’s stop complaining, move to actions…’’
